Institute

ICS produces original research, policy papers, and historical analysis. We focus deeply on the Christian intellectual and theological roots of the American founding, analyzing the intricate relationship between Christian moral thought and constitutional government.

Our research tracks the development of American legal and civic institutions within this framework, addressing fundamental questions of authority, liberty, responsibility, and public virtue. Furthermore, we examine the institutional and social consequences of moral and spiritual secularization.

Crucially, our work draws from history, political theory, theology, and law. We engage primary sources and serious scholarship rather than transient political trends or partisan narratives.

Beyond research, ICS maintains a structured training and formation component. This is designed to cultivate future scholars, analysts, and institutional leaders, translating rigorous research into applied understanding.

We prepare participants to engage public life with clarity, discipline, and intellectual depth through:

• Seminars on political theology, constitutional development, and moral philosophy
• Research fellowships and analyst development tracks
• Writing and policy-analysis workshops grounded in primary-source study
• Cohort-based programs emphasizing judgment, institutional literacy, and stewardship

These programs are engineered to form individuals capable of responsibly interpreting the American political tradition, contributing to serious policy conversations, and serving institutions with competence and uncompromising moral clarity.

The Institute for Christian Statecraft operates strictly as a research and educational organization. We do not engage in electoral politics or partisan campaigning.

Our dedicated role is to inform public understanding, strengthen intellectual infrastructure, and develop leaders capable of sustaining serious engagement with the Christian foundations of American public life.

ICS envisions a renewed seriousness in American governance and civic culture—one that recognizes the formative influence of Christian moral reasoning on the nation's institutions.

We aim to equip a new generation to engage that inheritance thoughtfully. Through disciplined research and principled formation, the Institute seeks to contribute to the long-term health, coherence, and legitimacy of American public institutions.
